I've hidden behind bushes,
taxi cabs, even police officers
to get THE SHOT!
All you photographers out there can relate :)
But this time i thought
I would ask permission!!
New concept for me lol
I don't really feel comfortable approaching
perfect strangers in the street to take their picture
but I today I would like to quote myFRIEND Jen...
"Be Uncomfortable, and DO IT ANYWAY"!

I walked by this fine looking elderly gentleman
3 times before I got up enough nerve to approach
him and ask if I could take his picture.
He looked like he could be waiting for his wife and daughter as they shop for some magpie bling.
I am realizing a pattern here...
Every time I do something I am nervous about...
...that's when the MAGIC happens :)
meet HERB COLE
Herb Cole has lived in Westboro since 1967
He has watched this little village grow and expand all while maintaining it's simplicity!
Herb lived his life as an Architect
We chat about the architectural transformation of the houses and buildings in myHOOD.
Herb now lives in Amica at Westboro Park, a beautiful retirement home overlooking the Ottawa River.
Herb has children, grand-children and great-grand-children
I tell Herb that I am doing a blog about myHOOD
He thinks it's a great idea and
tells me about his son who is also in myHOOD
"mySON David Cole has his business just up the street" says Herb with a big smile on his face!
"I will give him a shout out" I reply :)
I just love the idea of David Cole, son of Herbert Cole, Lord of Westboro, first of his name...lol
...reading this and realizing his Dad is giving him a 'Shout Out' on Social Media :)

I truly enjoyed meeting your father
He is a beautiful, creative gentleman
that allowed me to feel comfortable enough
to step out of myCOMFORT ZONE :)
